Job Description

Kleen Test Products has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Manager at our Corporate Headquarters in Port Washington, WI. Manages the purchasing function in a way that assures that the supply of components, raw materials, MRO items and all other purchases are made in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner such that operations are not interrupted, delayed or otherwise impacted. Manages vendor relationships in a manner that supports the Company’s interests in strategic partnerships, including playing a primary role in new product sourcing.

This position qualifies for our hybrid remote work program, which allows eligible employees to work remotely up to three days per week.

Sign-on Bonus Details

$500 paid at 60 days, $1000 at 6 months. Must be in good standing to qualify. Bonus will be paid on the next full pay period once the milestone has been reached.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Staffing

    1. Maintains department calendar and approves time off and staffing coverage for vacations

    2. Performs coaching, training, and issue resolution as needed

    3. Arranges learning opportunities for staff inside of KTP and with outside vendors

    4. Involved in staffing decisions and new hires (disciplinary actions and/or terminations issued by supervisor)

    Vendor Relationships

    1. Seeks and creates new relationships

    2. Interfaces with Engineering group for sourcing/resourcing activities

    3. Coaches buyers on vendor interaction, cost savings, price increases, strategic buying

    Department Workload

    1. Retains all responsibilities for new item sourcing and quoting

    2. Distributes project and item workload and rebalances as necessary

    3. Assigns new product trials and launches as needed to buyers

    4. Retains product trials and launches for larger initiatives

    5. Other projects as assigned

Requirements

A successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Requires a college degree in business or materials management.
  • Prior experience (5+ years) in Purchasing and or Management Position.
  • Knowledge of market conditions, cost and supply trend analysis.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Strong sourcing and networking skills.
  • Requires the ability to understand and adhere to all laws pertaining to procurement and contracts.
  • PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) along with Google Suite, MRP and inventory software.
  • Organized, responsive and proactive team player.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) at all levels.
  • Proven ability to maintain discretion with highly confidential information.
