Location: Remote, employer based in Phoenix, AZ
Our client is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and professional Tax Specialist join their team! Their tax work is more complex than most firms, so excellent technical skills with experience preparing tax returns and performing complex tax research are essential.
This is a full time position with 40 hours work week, no tax season, no clients - great for someone who loves tech and hates clients.
We would like a professional with a good understanding of tax code from big picture perspective. The successful candidate will create Excel formulas for tax calculations to provide development team to build into software to be used by CPAs.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensure the timely, accurate, amp; creative delivery of tax preparation and strategy services
2. Responsible for preparing federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business-related filings
3. Actively participate in strategic tax planning for clients
4. Demonstrate ability to track and monitor projects and communicate status
5. Follow all process playbooks
6. Research and co-lead meetings on efficiency and technical trainings
7. Develop an understanding of our client’s businesses
8. Seeks regular feedback from supervisors
9. Comply with laws and regulations
10. Support company vision, mission, and values
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
1. 1 - 3 years of experience in tax compliance
2. Master's degree in Accounting or related field (required)
3. Good understanding of tax code from big picture perspective.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Ability and desire to work independently
6. Strong sense of respect, teamwork, dignity, and integrity
7. Highly professional, have good judgment; an eye for detail and be willing to take initiative
8. Required to pass a background investigation check
