Job Description

The company is looking for a Director of Engineering-Head of Web to join our talented team of professionals to lead the engineering team to establish a strong web platform that can support our customers. As the Head of Web Engineering, you will be responsible for pushing the boundaries of our web products using your innovative ideas and implementing those ideas to develop a robust and scalable platform.

As the largest contributor to the technology division of PushPress, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall web development process and ensuring that the platform meets the highest standards of security, effectiveness, and maintainability. You will be expected to direct and coordinate the team of web developers while working closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and UX designers to ensure our web platform satisfies the business requirements and aligns with the company's objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of full stack web developers
  • Collaborate with Product to ensure that the team delivers quality projects
  • Maintain high coding standards and implement new features into existing applications
  • Manage all technical aspects of web development
  • Make key decisions to ensure that web development is done according to industry standards
  • Identify and execute opportunities to enhance the overall performance of the product

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience delivering full stack software solutions as an IC (Node.js, React)
  • 2 years of experience managing 3+ software engineers on full stack projects (remote experience preferred)
  • 2 years experience administering AWS infrastructure for web-based product
  • Experience developing server side solutions that include asynchronous patterns in AWS (Event Bridge, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda)
  • Exemplified clear written communication
  • Ability to dive into a new codebase and triage issues to deliver results
  • Ability to navigate, model, modify, and utilize typical AWS data stores (Aurora RDS, Dynamo, Redis, Redshift, s3)
  • Experience leading some major code refactor (for example legacy Ruby to Node, PHP to Node, etc.)
  • Experience with NestJS preferred
  • Experience with Apollo GraphQL preferred
  • Experience developing SaaS products preferred
  • Wellness industry experience and/or passion preferred
