Senior Public Relations/Communications Project Manager

The Role:

Direct Impact, the Advocacy and Grassroots practice of BCW Global (a WPP agency) is seeking a Senior PR/Communications Project Manager. This highly visible position offers the opportunity to work with a F100 client in the innovative automotive sector and internally among a multi-agency cross-functional team on several project workstreams.

This role will be responsible for earned/integrated program management across branded social channels, digital platforms, traditional media, launch events and campaigns.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with demonstrated project management success in producing high-quality, on-time and within budget deliverables (PMI certification is highly preferred).

*Candidate location must be within commuting distance to Detroit.

The Work:

  • Participate in weekly client calls and meetings to provide content reviews and workstream status
  • Participate in daily internal meetings to proactively stay ahead of deadlines and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Guide teams in getting ahead of project deadlines to begin work earlier and ensure success
  • Responsible for developing workback plans for announcements/events/drives/etc.
  • Maintain/update key activities throughout process
  • Work with clients and account lead to review/establish project prioritization
  • Monitor deliverable due dates
  • Advise workstream teams and matrixed partners as delivery due dates change/move
  • Adjust workback plan to reflect changes
  • Maintain up to date information to trackers and communication calendars
  • Serve as another layer of quality control/review of content
  • Be aware of all ongoing content across editorial blog (owned), social and internal to ensure alignment with earned media
  • Awareness of other lines of business storytelling to ensure that Ford Pro storytelling does not get pushed aside
  • Keep eyes on business objectives with an eye towards new and efficient ways of working
  • Ensure all documents are archived to SharePoint site
  • Work closely with Account leads

Experience That Contributes to Your Success:

  • 8-12 years of experience in public relations or communications
  • Strong project management and proven ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments and identify, secure and employ resources needed to achieve results. PMI certification is HIGHLY desired
  • Prior experience serving as a day-to-day account lead
  • Advanced writing skills, ability to write for senior level management and audiences adapting tone and style
  • Ability to manage complex relationships diplomatically and consultatively
  • Ability to think innovatively; develop creative solutions and new programs
  • Team player, ready to roll up their sleeves in a collaborative environment
  • Experience working in an embedded client capacitycandidate must be within commuting distance of Detroit
  • Proficient in MS Office particularly Excel
