Job Description

Parento is the first provider for paid parental leave, distributing the first and only paid parental leave insurance and support program. Our holistic program enables companies to offer paid maternity and paternity leave to all employees.

Designed to support working parents while alleviating HR’s workload, Parento’s white glove leave concierge handles the complexities of leave management, payroll calculations, compliance, and claims, while providing emotional and parent coaching for employees. Our proprietary program boasts a 95% return-to-work rate and guides employees through the process before, during, and after leave to ensure a seamless re-onboarding.

The Sales Representative role is a key part of our distribution organization that focuses on growth of the organization by developing highly productive producer relationships, selling new business and assisting with the persistency of our in-force clients.

How you will contribute:

  • Sell Paid Parental Leave Insurance through insurance brokers and consultants
  • Construct and maintain a business plan for your designated territory based on sales and strategic initiatives
  • Meet and exceed seasonal targets and personal sales goals
  • Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned territory, assessing impacts, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
  • Build and maintain business relationships through effective communication via email, phone and in person with internal/external stakeholders in a customer centric and professional demeanor.
  • Identify, recommend and champion process improvements and organizational initiatives to positively influence the team and quality.

Requirements

  • Must be located in MA, ME, NH, NY, CT or RI
  • BA/BS Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience selling through employee benefit brokers and consultants
  • A passion to succeed and test yourself while building a book of business
  • Drive, self-motivation, a consultative nature and be a great problem solver
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
  • Strong networking and relationship management skills
  • Excellent listening, presentation, negotiation and communication skills
  • Highly motivated with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to partner internally with service partners and externally with brokers
  • Ability to navigate and develop relationships within a matrix organization (underwriting, service, implementation partners)
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player to achieve goals and objectives
  • Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks at once while prioritizing as needed
  • Ability to maintain compliance tracking in all appropriate systems as needed (quotes, calls, sales)
  • Knowledge of the Google Workspace suite
  • Ability to use and present technology/online tools effectively
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Driver’s License / acceptable driving record
  • Committed to obtaining required Property amp; Casualty Surplus Lines license
  • Extensive travel in the territory - up to 75%
