DroneUp is seeking a Budget Analyst to prepare budget reports and monitor spending in order to ensure the company runs efficiently. This position will reside within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FPamp;A) team and support activity related to budgeting and cost analysis. This role will assist in monitoring business spend by preparing and analyzing budget versus actual. In addition, this role will assist with the annual budgeted process as well as long-term modeling. This is a key role within the FPamp;A function.
Responsibilities
- Monitor spending and ensure organizations stays with organization
- Organize, compile, and analyze monthly budget versus actual results
- Work closely with the accounting team in order to prepare robust analytics and explanations on variances
- Build financial statement models for current and forecasted revenues and expenses
- Provide analytics and strategic recommendations for achieving financial goals
- Assist in the annual budget process
- Identify strategies and tactics to drive continual improvement from a budget management perspective
- Develop/create/review and ensure all budget decisions are documented and controlled
- Continually improve the FPamp;A models to better handle all forms of internal reporting needs
- Translate data into visualizations and actionable insights for managers
- Determine and measure key cost drivers
- Assist in development of short-term and long-term systems which support FPamp;A
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- 2+ years’ experience as an analyst or in a similar position
- Data management and analysis skills, merging several data sources using best practices
- Proven proficiency with models using Microsoft Excel
- Proven Analytical skills must be able to analyze information and provide recommendations
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Exposure enterprise level ERP applications a plus
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to project outcomes
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Desire to work in a dynamic environment with entrepreneurial spirit

$60,000 - $70,000
