Kutol is a leading manufacturer of liquid hand soaps and hand sanitizers at our facility in Sharonville, Ohio. As part of our succession planning strategy, we are adding a Supply Chain Manager to our Senior Management team. This person will be a key contributor in supporting the growth of Kutol. The Supply Chain Manager will lead and coordinate all aspects of the supply chain organization including materials planning and replenishment, purchasing/sourcing, production scheduling, warehouse shipping/receiving, inventory control, and logistics. This person will ensure that these various disciplines will work together to ensure that quality, cost, inventory, and on-time delivery goals are attained.
Key responsibilities will include:
Operations Planning/Production Scheduling
- Act as a liaison between Sales and Operations to review/determine production forecasts amp; safety stocks, manufacturing plans, and finished goods inventory requirements to meet customer and cash flow needs.
- Manage scheduling and department staff activities to maintain an uninterrupted flow of production to schedule.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems, reporting, and data analysis to assess, problem solve, and improve operations in support of the strategic goals of the organization including accurate budgets, timelines, and risk assessments where needed.
- Create, modify, or eliminate SOP’s and assist with GMP documentation as needed to develop effective processes and policies.
Purchasing amp; Supplier Management
- Work with sales and operations to understand product requirements such as quality, volume, etc. Guide Purchasing to implement strategic sourcing where applicable including recommendations for in house vs. external production strategies.
- Oversee Purchasing’s relationships with vendors to achieve competitive pricing and on-time delivery of product.
- Develop strategic partnerships and material sourcing strategies to protect Kutol’s competitive advantage.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators around sourcing including delivery, cycle time, supplier lead time, quality, etc.
- Provide analysis on cost fluctuations and impact by product group.
Distribution, Transportation amp; Logistics Planning/Optimization
- Design or implement plant warehouse strategies for production materials or finished products.
- Lead strategic improvements in the areas of transportation, freight, and logistics.
- Supervise the Logistics Administrator in the development and selection of transportation routes to maximize economy for shipments, or consolidating warehousing and distribution for OEM/direct customers.
- Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
Inventory Management
- Manage all aspects of the cycle count program.
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize lead times/customer satisfaction.
- Work with Sales and Operations to develop an annual plan for inventory and production, and report variances throughout the year.
Requirements
What we are looking for in a Supply Chain management professional:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience and education
- 10+ years managerial experience in a manufacturing/supply chain role- OTC drug, chemical, or GMP facility preferred.
- Proven track record of scheduling in a fast-paced manufacturing, job shop environment
- Working knowledge of cycle counts, raw materials, suppliers, and purchasing procedures
- Strong technical skills including handling of ERP/MRP system implementation with the goal of training up to a super user.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex issues with innovative thought.
- Able to excel at contract negotiations, supply chain, and inventory control.
- Effectively drive results from TeamMates, embrace change, and make recommendations for improvements on processes and products. Mentor others around continuous improvement, efficiencies, and teamwork
