Simpluris seeks to hire a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment where you aren't siloed, but are working side-by-side with other technologists and business stakeholders directly influencing and seeing the results of your work. This position requires working with our technical and general business groups to discover, capture, filter, translate, and ultimately document functional requirements for our various applications. The BSA works directly with the Business, Product Management, Software Development, Database Administration, QA, department Team Leads, and others to understand all aspects of our business operations and to determine and document business requirements. They participate in the various stages of the development lifecycle including helping to validate the implementation of the requirements through various testing methods. This position requires a blend of logic, communication, documentation, and technical and problem-solving skills.
This position can be fully remote, but we do offer physical offices in Orlando, Florida, and Costa Mesa, California if you prefer to work in an office environment, but is NOT required. Prefer someone located in the Western or Central region of the United States to help cover bi-coastal operations.
Requirements
What you will be doing...
- Interact with internal users and key stakeholders daily to understand client (internal amp; external) needs. Develop and publish technical specifications, technical requirements, and other documentation as needed.
- Work with Software Developers, Database Developers, IT, and other team members to design testing strategies and plans to ensure all outcomes are achieved as expected. Analyze system outputs amp; data to ensure requirements are being met
- Organize and lead pre-production review exercises and provide consultation to Business on User Acceptance testing to ensure results are acceptable and meet requirements.
- Follow prescribed software development standards, processes, procedures, methodologies, etc. according to departmental policies and conventions as well as general industry best practices.
- Interact and correspond professionally with team members, project management, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure production work flows smoothly.
- Account for and accurately log time against project work.
- Present technical material in an understandable manner to technical/non-technical audiences and decision-makers to aid them in their decisions.
Experience we need from you...
- BS in Computer Science or related disciplines, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 13 years experience as a Project Manager, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, Process Specialist, or similar roles where business functional requirements are captured and decomposed.
- Experience with relational databases and ability to comprehend low to medium-complex SQL logic desired, including querying databases and basic table joins.
- Basic understanding of data modeling and data organizations.
- Proficient with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio), Jira/Confluence, Figma/Moqups, or similar tools to document and share requirements and screen mockups.
- Ability to work in an environment with deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Ability to learn new processes or procedures with minimal direction and guidance.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; able to adjust for the intended audience.
- Fluency in English.
