Job Description

The Communications Project Strategist is primarily responsible for building project strategy, leading project collaboration, and supporting the requests of other teams and ministries, all to contribute to the Communications Team’s goal of effectively engaging people and leading them toward their next step toward Christ.

The Life.Church Communications Group develops strategies for how our ministry meets people where they are and empowers them to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through Social Media, Marketing, Public Relations, and Communications Teams, we introduce people to Life.Church, connect them to our mission, and help them take the next steps in their spiritual growth.What You'll Do
  • Build detailed strategy for MarComm campaigns as well as collaborate, communicate, and cast vision for related requests with other teams.
  • Maintain oversight of projects to ensure the original MarComm vision/objective is carried out throughout the project.
  • Support the editing and review of assets and copy to ensure alignment with campaign and project needs and overall Life.Church voice, tone, and communication style.
  • Lead the MarComm Team’s use of Asana as a tool to provide organization and team alignment.
  • Collaborate with the entire Life.Church Marketing and Communication Team, as well as the Life.Church Online Team, Creative Media Group, Digital Technology Group, and others to ensure project cohesion and alignment with overall organizational objectives.
  • Lead debrief meetings and document learnings and key takeaways to inform future projects.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and constantly evaluate how Life.Church can leverage project management strategies and systems to advance church engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communication to lead the MarComm team to support organizational needs while maintaining momentum on proactive MarComm strategies.
  • Evaluate project requests from other teams to determine how the request fits with current MarComm objectives and strategies and be the primary point of contact throughout the project.
  • Lead the discovery process to gain necessary details about projects.
Skills Needed to Succeed
  • Ability to self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems.
  • Effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to clearly explain complicated processes and foster partnerships.
  • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication, Project Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of related work experience.
