  • Travel/Location: On-Site Fort Myers FL Up to 75% travel.

Mission of Role/Position Summary

Be part of a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful allies for our clients. AC Disaster Consulting is seeking Manager of Debris/Inspectors to assist in the removal of debris oversight generated by a natural disaster in your area. The Manager of Debris/Inspectors will play an integral part of helping citizens and communities recover from natural disasters. Applicants should be passionate about making a difference in the world, and interested in supporting local, state, and federal jurisdictions prepare for and recover from disasters.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities/Role Competencies:

  • Assist with assigned projects.
  • Ensure process adherence is followed in line with client and AC Disaster policies and procedures.
  • Liaise and guide clients on debris management activities.
  • Identify potential impacts and implications of debris management policy change, and provide briefings as required to appropriate partners.
  • Conducts meetings and briefings with applicants related to debris management issues.
  • Conduct and address any inconsistencies, special considerations, or compliance issues with the focus of debris management.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement debris management plans and procedures associated with effective and efficient program delivery.
  • Perform quality control review of work completed by the larger debris management team.
  • Research, analyze, and organize data as needed
  • Participate in deployment teams to assist clients in emergency situations and/or activations.
  • Pursue trainings, credentials, and development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Industry certifications.
  • Experience with FEMA Public Assistance.

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Knowledge of FEMA damage assessments and Debris Eligibility.
  • Experience with Personal Property Debris Removal.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective and proactive communication with local, state, and federal stakeholders as well as internal team members.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in partnerships.
  • Combined knowledge of debris management, disaster recovery, and local, state, and federal legislation.
  • Conduct analysis from research.
  • Ability to prepare reports and briefs.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply regulations, procedures, and related emergency management information.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, pubic officials, and civic and community groups.
  • IT literate in office applications, specifically Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with FEMA damage assessments and debris eligibility.
  • Minimum five years of experience debris supervision.
  • Experience working large disaster recovery projects.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Schedule may vary and require work on evenings, weekends, and potentially up to 12 hours per day, and 6-7 days a week. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.
  • Standing for prolonged hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
  • Ability to travel and be mobile at client site.
