The Accounting Department has an opportunity for an Accountant in a 2-year limited duration position. Limited status equals full-time employment with a term of up to two years and participation in benefit plans offered. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and have a diverse accounting experience. Enjoy a flexible telecommuting schedule (3 days remote, 2 days on-site) as you support these functions and:

  • Prepare and maintain cost and project accounting records, capital assets and other related accounts; calculate and ensure the accuracy of project cost allocations; prepare reports and reconcile project work-in-progress; prepare journal entries for the capitalization of projects, acquisition, and disposal of assets; reconcile capital asset schedules to general ledger.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end closing and audit processes; review various month-end reports; perform financial and other analyses requested by auditors; research and interpret GASB pronouncements.
  • Develop and review specialized accounting records and reports; calculate and analyze highly technical data and information from a variety of sources; research and advise on inquiries from customers on a wide array of complex, technical matters related to areas of responsibility.

  • Leveraging Technology: Proficient in computer systems, MS Office Suite, ERP or other financial software.
  • Ethical Conduct amp; Integrity: Ability to perform work responsibilities with honesty and consistency.

Requirements

Experience amp; Education:

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in accounting or a closely related field.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Construction accounting experience a plus.

Preferred experience amp; education:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or other certificates/training in book keeping, accounting, payroll or related field.

The hiring salary is: $72,165
