JOB SUMMARY: The Controller is part of the Senior Accounting amp; Finance Shared Services Team supporting management and all locations in various aspects of daily, monthly, and annual accounting amp; finance functions.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and completes the month, quarter, and year-end close and assures adherence to US GAAP, completes reconciliations of balance sheet accounts ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
- Manages month-end closing within 5 business days.
- Reviews and prepares monthly financial reports and communicates significant variances on a timely basis, including coordinating adjustments when needed.
- Ensure all intercompany transactions are recorded in a timely manner.
- Coordinates periodic financial reviews/audits with outside audit and tax firms as required.
- Provides all necessary information to outside accountants in conjunction with the filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for the business and trusts.
- Develops recommendations and implements improvements to internal controls processes striving to build a more robust Accounting and Finance department.
- Works with senior management to build a shared services accounting department supporting all company’s locations.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for management and works with the operations team to ensure the accuracy of department PL’s and manufacturing costs.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or higher preferred.
- 10 plus years of financial accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years public.
- 5-10 years in a manufacturing/distribution environment preferred.
- 5-plus years consolidating financials from multiple ERP systems.
- Able to manage multiple projects with varying but stringent deadlines.
- Experience implementing tier 1 ERP systems.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work as a member or a leader of a team.
- Previous management experience required ( 7 years)
- Advanced Excel skills.
