Job Description

GA-CCRi maintains and deploys production systems for users across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and commercial industry. We build and develop best-in-class all domain and globally focused situational awareness capabilities that process petabytes of data from numerous streaming data sources in near real time. Our systems apply state-of-the-art algorithms and machine learning techniques to extract features and fuse data from multiple phenomenologies to form a rich live view of objects in the sky, on the sea, and on the ground. These analytics are designed to determine not just where something is, but what it is, where it's been and what it's doing. All of this "data to knowledge" is made available to end users in our own browser-based application for visualization, analysis, and understanding. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for developing, implementing, and/or maintaining one or more accounting system(s).
  • Prepares journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts.
  • Provides record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions.
  • Balances books periodically and prepares financial statements.
  • May coordinate the collection of internal accounting data and financial results from group and/or business units for external reporting.
  • May prepare federal, state and local reports and tax returns.
  • Analyzes and interprets reports and records for managers, giving presentations to management or customers as required.
  • May prepare and analyze cost structures for new and existing areas of the company and price new services or products by developing unit costs and projecting expenses.
  • Prepares and analyzes reports that compare budgets with actual expenses.
  • May recommend, design, or develop revisions to the cost accounting system.
  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards and provides leadership in resolving complex accounting issues.

Essential Functions

  • Determines and implements the most effective methods for controlling and processing accounting information.
  • Ensures proper documentation in accordance with external requirements.
  • Prepares timely and reliable periodic summaries of accounting records and data.
  • Conducts special studies and complex analysis, and prepares required accounting data for assigned projects and/or programs.
  • Prepares cost/revenue analysis, overhead analysis, earned value reporting, and related variance analysis. Assists management in maintaining profit margins.
  • Analyzes and responds to accounting questions, procedures, and issues by interpreting company policy, accounting principles, and various governmental regulations.
  • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, and document format for data processing equipment.
  • Provides analysis on business development and monitors business performance by unit or division.
  • Performs economic research on rates of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, and financial and expense comparisons. Analyzes profit and loss statements.
  • May function in an advisory or leadership role and provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • Additional functions or other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance or related discipline along with eight or more years of progressive experience in accounting with a bachelor's degree or six or more years of experience with a master's degree. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Extensive understanding of accounting theories, concepts and principles and experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts as well as a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, cost accounting standards, and FAR.
  • Leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates;
  • The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of complex problems;
