Job Description

The Field Marketing Manager (FMM) is the critical first line manager responsible for implementing Alani Nu / PRIME's field marketing program in a specific market. The FMM is responsible for approximately three to four (3-4) Field Marketing Ambassadors in each market, and is accountable for all facets of their management, including recruiting, on-boarding, planning, motivation and day-to-day administration. In addition, the FMM also provides oversight of the market’s collegiate ambassador program and support of relevant, local market event opportunities.

The goal of the FMM is to build brand awareness, drive trial, and increase product usage in the home market. This is done primarily by ensuring a fun, fully mobile and available team of FMA’s who deliver our premium product to consumer during key moments-of-need:

Major Activities

  1. Alani Nu and PRIME Sampling Program
    1. Recruiting: Build a team of Field Marketing Ambassadors (FMAs) that consistently make an impact on the territory via quality sampling and consumer interactions
      1. Recruit and maintain a quality team of 3-4 FMAs (part time, hourly) that personify the Alani Nu / PRIME brands, reflects the local market, and delivers against the FMAs Performance Profile
      2. Utilize existing tactics and develop new best practice in hiring the best FMAs for Alani Nu and PRIME sampling programs
      3. Maintain the appropriate number of FMAs with sufficient availability for work hours to meet our targeted consumer collecting goals for the home market
      4. Adhere to HR policies for new FMA recruits (background checks, admin.)
    2. Training: Become a product, brand amp; sampling expert to best train FMAs to be successful in the field, according to the FMA Performance Expectations
      1. Conduct Alani Nu / PRIME onboard training for every new hire
      2. Utilize existing tactics and develop new, fun, and creative ways to ensure that FMAs are constantly instilled with the appropriate knowledge of our brand and product
      3. Execute frequent spot checks each month to monitor the effectiveness of the program and respond to areas of opportunity
      4. Identify leaders within the sampling team to assist in the running of the program, with clear goals and appropriate training
    3. Motivation: Foster a culture of fun, learning and empowerment
      1. Create and foster a positive learning environment and use tools such as interactive training, personal coaching and sharing of best practice
        1. Recognize achievement and development skill-sets for the betterment of each individual, and Alani Nu / PRIME's sampling program as a whole
      2. Empower FMAs to identify, develop, and executive sampling missions and other ideas to improve the sampling experience
      3. Reward successful FMAs by offering a role in leading their teams at a field level
    4. Planning amp; Execution: Create plans to ensure delivery against the goal of building awareness and trial, especially against the female consumer
      1. Develop plans that combine strong market knowledge with an understanding of our strategic priority: To build Alani Nu / PRIME trail and awareness among consumers
      2. Utilize FMAs to develop a continuous flow of new and innovative ideas for sampling missions and other market opportunities
      3. Work with FMS/FMMs from other teams to collect, assess amp; schedule quality sampling missions
      4. Maximize the impact of market sampling by ensuring that missions that are unexpected, unique, and mobile
      5. Pending availability, collaborate with Alani Student Ambassadors to create maximum impact on college campuses
      6. Work with brand leadership to play an active role in quarterly planning, distributor reviews, amp;/or business planning cycles, etc.
      7. Implement a continuous series of Quality Sampling Missions for the market:
        1. Manage all activities with sampling missions
          1. Establish amp; post work schedules in a timely manner
          2. Ensure adequate supplies, handling of all necessary logistics and field support
          3. Obtain required pre-approvals, as needed
      8. Take a leadership role in supporting market blitzes with targeted sampling
    5. Reporting amp; Communication: Manage internal reporting requirements
      1. Be competent in using and training other team members on appropriate (electronic) reporting tools
      2. Ensure timely processing of FMA time-sheets and manage submission of payroll
      3. Build team schedule, utilizing in-depth knowledge of the home market
      4. Spend approximately 15-20 hours per week sampling in the field
      5. Track sampling metrics through reporting process to ensure goals are met
      6. Be vigilant that all interactions are reported accurately, and that FMAs are acting responsibly with company property
