About the Field Heavy Equipment Technician position:
- Uses modern equipment and computer programs to troubleshoot, analyze, and adjust the equipment’s internal systems
- Determines parts that are needed or must be fabricated, and orders parts and materials through appropriate departments
- Assures that equipment assigned is in good working condition and meets all safety specifications.
- Troubleshoots engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical and related systems
- Repairs or rebuilds engines and systems
- Reads and interprets manuals and schematic diagrams
- Effectively communicates with site superintendents on the job sites about the status of equipment repair.
Education and Experience:
- A CDL Class B license preferred
- At least one year of experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy excavation/construction equipment.
