Job Description

Position Purpose
Provides production, technical, archival, facility and student management, in addition to academic support, for Dance
Department productions and classes. Collaborate with Dance faculty and staff to achieve departmental mission and goals.

Core Responsibilities
• Provides lighting, scene design and stage management for all Dance Department and non-departmental events and is
responsible for all technical aspects of production including scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, video, and equipment.
• Instructs as lead instructor courses including: Production Workshop, Movement and Media, independent projects in
the production track, DANC500 connected to senior work
• Provides additional instruction and support for faculty-led courses.
• Hires, trains, and supervises student workers in production and additional department needs. This provides valuable
experiential learning for students.
• Provides production management and academic support including scheduling, space management, capital equipment
purchases, and budget monitoring for productions.
• Assures maintenance of department equipment and facilities.
• Manages, organizes, and digitizes all departmental archives and historical information.
• Collaborates on marketing, publicity, graphic design, production of posters, promotional videos, and programs for Dance
events.

This is considered a full time, salaried benefits eligible position. The hiring range for the position is $61,000 - $76,200 annually

Requirements

Position Prerequisites:
  • Master’s of Fine Arts in Technical Theater or Theatrical Design or relevant professional experience.
  • Facility in a variety of computer applications is required including: Vectorworks, Lightwright, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Qlab or equivalent show control software.
  • Experience using ProTools or equivalent sound editing software, MS Office Suite and Outllook.
  • Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools. Knowledge of theater carpentry, rigging, sewing and painting.
  • Requires strong artistic, technical, administrative and organizational skills; the ability to interact effectively with and clearly
  • communicate information to a wide range of persons.
  • The ability to respond to numerous projects concurrently, establishing priorities and responding positively, effectively and
  • quickly to continually shifting priorities and needs.
  • Requires a high level of creativity and the flexibility to respond to creative work and a diversity of people.
  • Significant background in dance lighting, history, performance and video production. Experience within an educational setting
  • focused on experiential learning.

Physical Demands amp; Working Conditions
Work at heights of 18 to 21 feet. Lift and carry ladders and equipment. Push, pull genie lift. Nights and weekends required.
