Position Title amp; Overview:

The Sr. Data Privacy Analyst is responsible for performing day-to-day activities that support Mediavine’s data privacy, retention and compliance programs. In this role, you will monitor for compliance with privacy standards, provide staff training, engage and advise business areas regarding data privacy practices as well as assist in data privacy incident response. The ideal candidate will have experience in automating compliance responses, measuring operational effectiveness, identifying potential gaps and making recommendations for improvements as needed. Reporting to the Director of Privacy amp; Compliance, the Sr. Data Privacy Analyst will bring efficiency and innovation to how we respond to internal and regulatory compliance requests as well as collaborating with other areas of the organization on privacy related initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Drive efforts in support of legal strategy and ensure all data privacy and compliance standards are met
  • Working with the Director of Privacy amp; Compliance on the procurement and implementation of privacy software tools to drive efficiencies and scale the Global Privacy Program as the business grows
  • Conduct data mapping initiatives and manage data inventories to track data flows and processing activities throughout the business
  • Lead with a focus on continuous improvement, Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) processes
  • Assist with privacy gap analysis for products and Mediavine’s privacy program
  • Assist with the build-out, implementation, and ongoing management of privacy policies and processes
  • Enhance awareness of privacy across the business through privacy training and the development of educational materials and other resources
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to maintain up-to-date knowledge of key business operations and initiatives, fostering privacy-by-design (PbD) principles in the product lifecycle
  • Monitor and prepare reports on global regulatory developments
  • Stay up to date on the latest privacy innovations, technologies, and approaches
  • Required travel on an as needed basis, for our annual All Hands Retreat, Team Retreats/Meetings and/or industry events/conferences (approx. 15%)

Requirements

Location

  • Must currently live in the United States

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in data privacy and protection for a fast-paced growing tech company
  • Experience in processes for assessing and designing internal controls for mid to large scale organizations
  • Current experience in one or more of the following industries; Ad Tech, Media/Online Publishing, Marketing and Advertising, preferred
  • Understanding of commercial terms for the AdTech Industry, preferred
  • Knowledge of data protection laws and regulations
  • Experience assisting in developing and submitting audit and compliance reports to governing bodies, legal entities, and/or external authorities
  • Experience performing risk assessments or safeguard/control operational effectiveness testing
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Slack, required
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and techniques of legal research; ability to identify and analyze comp
