The successful candidate must possess excellent language skills, interpreting abilities, and cultural understanding. The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to provide interpretation services in various settings, including conferences, business meetings, legal proceedings, and medical appointments. Responsibilities
- Provide effective and accurate interpretation services to clients on-site as requested.
- Appropriately prepare for the meetings or conferences requiring interpretation services.
- Follow industry standards and ethical codes of conduct regarding confidentiality and impartiality during the interpretation process.
- Communicate fluently with clients, accurately relaying oral messages from one language to another.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Manage the necessary equipment for on-site interpretation, including interpreting devices, audio and video equipment, and other necessary tools.
- Respond efficiently to client inquiries, provide quotes and other information.
Requirements
- Fluency in at least two languages, including English.
- At least one year of experience as an interpreter in various settings.
- Knowledge of industry-standard equipment and interpretation software.
- Professional conduct and ethics of the interpreting profession.
- Cultural knowledge and sensitivity to successfully interact in various settings and with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
