Job Description
Job: CNC Lathe
Duties Level 1:
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. Reads and interprets blueprints. Understand tolerancing. Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. Properly and safely replace inserts and materials onto machines. Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures. Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions. Perform first piece inspection on simple geometry. Clear chips from parts during operation stops. Identify part defects and alert supervisor. Understand tool ware and when to change tooling. Initiating NCR’s and completing other quality and production documents.Duties Level 2:
Set up and operate for basic parts. Create and review simple programs. Transfer programs from the shop computer to the machine and to the shop computer from machine.
General understanding of speeds and feeds of the cutting tool. Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials onto machines.
Recognizes, deploys and properly uses inserts, fixtures and tooling. Has own measuring tools.Duties Level 3:
Set up and operate the most complex parts. Perform tasks with little to no supervision. Determining and adjusting speeds and feeds of the cutting tool based on material and tooling.
