Job Description

We are a family-owned business offering exterior landscape design and installation, commercial snow removal, and property maintenance services. In this position, the Landscape Designer/Estimator will work with high-end residential clients, our field team, and upper-management throughout entire planting and landscaping projects (see our work 4designworks.com).

  • Guide high-end residential clients through the entire process
  • Meet with clients and designing residential gardens, foundation plantings, master plans, etc. May also include hardscape designs and layouts, though this position is primarily for planting design.
  • Estimate planting designs and enhancement sales
  • Assist project and account managers with Project (Hardscape) and Recurring (maintenance) estimates.
  • Work with Landscape Planting Foreman to layout plants and manage the installation of planting projects.
  • Work with Project and Account Managers to oversee costs and ensure projects are coming in on time and on budget
  • Monitor quality of services and work frequently with the field team to teach and train staff on proper installation methods.
  • Build new business through client referrals, networking, and working with vendors.
  • Work with owners to increase project backlog and help grow the DW Planting Division and enhance the brand.
  • May include other office/field assignments to meet project/company goals.

Requirements

  • Someone who love the outdoors in all New England seasons
  • A candidate with a degree in landscape architecture or similar
  • Proven experience in residential garden design, gardening, plant care, plant installation techniques, and a has a thorough knowledge of New England plant material
  • Great communication skills and ability to direct a team
  • Customer service experience
  • Social Media creation and management
  • Thorough knowledge of AutoCad, preparing, and reading plans
  • Familiar with rendering and graphics programs
  • Comfortable with CRM/estimating programs (we use LMN)
  • Understanding of efficiency, costs, and time management
  • Candidate is enthusiastic, driven, collaborative, business minded
  • Is willing to help with a large snow removal division (can be odd hours in the winter)
