What You Will Do:

Plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy. Role will provide particular focus on retention, compliance, and employee relations.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Oversee the performance management and improvement processes.
  • Direct and analyze the employee separation process.
  • Assist with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Manage Leave of Absences including FMLA, ADA, and Worker’s Compensation leaves.
  • Continuously improve reporting and other process and procedures.
  • Manage the onboarding experience for employees.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Create and manage learning and development programs to encourage employee growth within the organization.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the HR data in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Assist with preparing, updating, and recommending company policies and procedures.
  • Create and manipulate reports for management.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
  • Create and manage diversity programs.
  • Maintain work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Ensure legal HR compliance federal and state requirements, records maintenance, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), audits, Affordable Care Act (ACA).
  • Act as an HR advisor to employees and managers in the areas of performance management, engagement, and communication.
  • Resolve routine HR questions and escalate as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise a high level of discretion on all matters.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university required or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master’s degree a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in progressively responsible HR roles to include knowledge of general HR services and recruiting.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.

Licenses, Certifications, and Screenings:

  • Upon hire, must pass background screen to include employment history, college education, and license/certification verifications, and criminal check.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus.

Knowledge:

  • Advanced skills in MS Office, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience working with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and HRIS is preferred, especially the Workable and Paylocity systems.
