As a Payroll Specialist at JDK Management Company, you will be responsible for ensuring that all employees are paid accurately and on time. In addition to managing payroll, you will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing and a strong understanding of payroll tax laws. This position reports to the Payroll Manager.


Responsibilities
  • Completes accurate and timely payroll for 1,000+ employees in multiple pay groups on multiple pay frequencies, across several states.
  • Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system including employee hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholdings, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Enters, processes, and maintains wage attachments and garnishments.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and other wages.
  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Provides support for managers and employees in resolving payroll errors or issues.
  • Maintains knowledge and compliance of current federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws including best practices
  • Contributes to the overall success of the team with other appropriate duties as assigned.

Position Type
  • This is a full-time, exempt, benefit-eligible position.
  • This is a hybrid position offering both remote and on-site work. Occasional on-site visits are required, as needed.
  • Regular hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or other appropriate field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in progressive operations of payroll, accounting, or human resources is required.
  • 3+ years of experience using payroll or HRIS software is required; UKG experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office is required.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information, communicate with all levels of management, adhere to strict guidelines, attention to detail/accuracy, and solid analytical skills are required.
