Job Description
About you
You are an experienced hands-on Controller who’s directed and coordinated the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing process. You’re also skilled at SEC Reporting which includes preparing, reviewing, and filing documents (primarily 10-K and 10-Qs) and other regulatory reporting in an accurate and timely manner. You know how to initiate SOX readiness planning, documentation, testing, and remediation of internal controls. You are flexible and have a strong team orientation. You’re a creative problem solver with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Vivani Medical is an emerging biopharmaceutical company located in Emeryville, CA. We develop very small, sub-dermal drug implants utilizing our proprietary NanoPortal TM technology platform which enables delivery of a broad range of medicines to treat chronic diseases for durations of six months or longer. Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting.
- Demonstrated leadership with broad range of experiences in financial management roles including SEC Reporting and SOX readiness experience.
- Experience with financial, regulatory, and key audit concepts/standards (Sarbanes-Oxley Act, PCAOB, COSO, GAAP, SEC Reporting and Financial Statements).
- Experience with internal control, audit methods, core business procedures, risks and related exposure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to communicate with all levels of employees, as well as with external legal and accounting consultants.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Preferred Skills/experience
- CPA license
- Mix of audit firm experience and bio/pharma or MedTech public company experience a plus.
Salary range: $200-250K DOE
Must be able to work at the facility a minimum of 2 days per week.
