Shipping and Facility supervisor provides support to distribution maintenance operations to ensure effective asset management, energy conservation, environmental compliance and overall facility maintenance and shipping.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations and activities of direct reports.
• Manage and ensure effective employee/labor relations, create an ethical, non-discriminatory and safe work environment
• Responsible for repair amp; maintenance of selected equipment
• Manage and ensure effective employee/labor relations.
• Provides positive and strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
• Prepares operating statistics and cost control data for Facilities Departments based on plans developed for maintenance and repair work, including minor and new construction, alteration projects, replacement of existing equipment and procurement and installation of additional equipment.
• Supervises the efficient flow of maintenance and repair work orders through work facilities.
• Enforces safety and fire regulations designed to protect patrons, associates and visitors, May conduct safety, fire and energy conservation meetings.
• Supervising employees in the (SOH) Special Order Handling of flammables
• Ensure that the invoicing for projects is accurate.
• Initiate and manage contractor bidding.
• Assist with developing business relationships to ensure communication and efficient operations with third party vendors, including but not limited to, janitorial, pest services, security, external contractors, facility maintenance and beverage
• Responsible for complying with ISO 9001:2015 standards, aspects, directive, and procedures as related to the QMS
• May be required to load and unload trucks at various times to maintain production workflow and product quality.
• Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
• Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or contacts outside service facility for repair.
• Maintains vehicle maintenance report and schedules vehicles for service.

• Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
• Compiles records of unfilled orders.
• Posts weight and shipping charges.
• Prepares bills of lading.
• Adjusts errors and complaints.

Requirements

• Must have overall appreciation and understanding of the facility and how their operation effects other areas to allow them to effectively schedule production/distribution through their operations.
• Prior experience in supervisory role in manufacturing/distribution environment a plus but not required.
• Some tasks will require the ability to walk extensively throughout facilities during a workday.
• Requires the ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs as needed during a workday.
• Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, kneel, reach/stretch, and move in a 90-degree fashion during workday.
• Previous shipping and warehouse experience preferred.
• Previous experience operating forklifts including top pick styles.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Proven ability to work independently and lead staff (i.e. schedule daily duties, prioritize tasks, etc.)
• Proven ability in methods of communication, motivation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
• Proven ability to analyze and interpret business and systems requirements.
• Solid organization and time/project management skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
