• Data Transformation: Design, develop, and maintain data transformation pipelines using SQL and the dbt CLI. Leverage your expertise to extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets from various sources.

• Modern Data Stack Expertise: Apply your knowledge and experience with the modern data stack to streamline data integration, transformation, and analysis processes. Familiarity with tools like Fivetran, dbt (and Fivetran Transformations), and Snowflake is essential.

• Data Modeling: Collaborate with business stakeholders and business analysts to design and implement effective data models that meet the needs of various departments. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy throughout the transformation process.

• Performance Optimization: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in data transformation processes. Optimize SQL queries and transformations to improve overall efficiency and speed.

• Data Governance and Quality: Implement and enforce data governance practices to maintain high data quality standards. Develop and implement data quality checks and validations as part of the data transformation pipelines.

• Development Tools: Utilize development tools such as VS Code, terminal, and git to manage code repositories, collaborate with team members, and ensure version control.

• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand their requirements and deliver actionable insights. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficiency in SQL: Strong command over SQL and experience writing complex queries that join data across multiple systems. Ability to build tables in SQL using dbt.

• Experience with dbt CLI: Prior experience using the dbt CLI (Command Line Interface) for data transformations, including building tables and writing complex queries.

• Modern Data Stack Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the modern data stack, including tools like Fivetran (or similar data integration platforms), dbt (including building tables), and Snowflake. Experience in configuring a data warehouse or data ingestion tool.

• Data Modeling Skills: Experience in designing and implementing effective data models to support analytical requirements, including self-serve tables for business users. Familiarity with dimensional modeling concepts is preferred.

• Strong Analytical and Problem-solving Abilities: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and derive meaningful insights. Proven track record of solving analytical problems in a structured and logical manner.

• Development Tools Proficiency: Proficiency in using distributed source control systems such as Git for code management. Experience reviewing teammate or client's code for accuracy, DRYness (Don't Repeat Yourself), and style.

• Collaboration and Communication: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve common goals. Experience in an agile environment and working in a SaaS company is preferred.

• Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Detail-oriented and Quality-focused: Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality. Experience with data governance practices and data quality assurance is a plus.
