An international law firm with offices in SF is seeking a Manager of Attorney Recruiting to oversee law school outreach initiatives, the summer associate program, and summer associate, lateral associate, entry-level associate and judicial clerk recruiting processes.
- Maintaining regular communication with all summer associates prior to arrival, during the program, and after the departure.
- Reviewing and administering summer associate orientation.
- Planning and coordinating summer associate mentoring programs and work with the Professional Development team to facilitate summer associate training programs.
- Maintaining daily contact with summer associates.
- Supporting Practice Management’s efforts to coordinate summer associate work assignment.
- Overseeing the planning and coordination and attending of all social summer associate program events.
- Overseeing the mid- and end of summer associate evaluation process, summer associate exit interviews, and end of summer offer decision process.
- Preparing, maintaining, and monitoring summer associate program budget.
- Reviewing on-campus interview plans for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices and recommending changes as appropriate.
- Overseeing on-campus interview registration process for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.
- Reviewing and evaluating all unsolicited summer associate applications.
- Working closely with the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices’ representatives to the firm’s National Hiring Committee to select on-campus interviewers.
- Meeting and greeting students in hospitality suites during on-campus interviews.
- Overseeing the coordination of all callback interviews and post-offer follow-up visits and events.
- Meeting with summer associate candidates during callback interviews and post-offer follow-up visits.
- Preparing candidate packets for National Hiring Committee meetings and leading local offer decision meetings.
- Facilitating offer decision making process and post-offer follow-up efforts.
- Preparing and analyzing reports and projections regarding summer associate recruiting success and other issues for use by the National Hiring Committee.
- Updating National Association for Law Placement (NALP) form and complete other necessary industry forms and surveys.
- Coordinating and distributing quarterly attorney recruiting newsletter.
- Supporting National Hiring Committee meetings and efforts.
- Ensuring the firm's adherence to the guidelines of the NALP.
- Serving as firm liaison to law school career services professionals and other recruitment professionals. Maintaining these relationships through telephone and in person contact and participation in professional organizations and conferences.
- Managing core law school alumni groups within the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices and their involvement with candidates throughout the decision-making process.
- Managing all aspects of San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices’ winter and spring 1L outreach efforts.
- Coordinating with other offices on firmwide winter and spring 1L outreach efforts.
- Managing all aspects of recruiting process for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices’ diversity amp; inclusion focused 1L positions.
- Reviewing and evaluating all applications.
- Coordinating with practice groups and Practice Management to initiate searches over the course of the recruiting process.
- Communicating with search firms regarding lateral associate hiring needs and applicants.
- Managing offer approval and extension process including: negotiating terms of an offer, drafting offer letters, conducting reference checks, initiating background checks, and submitting conflicts screenings.
- Working closely with Talent Management team members (including Professional Development and Diversity amp; Inclusion) to support the onboarding and integration process for all new associates.
Requirements
• 5+ years of prior attorney recruiting experience at a law firm is required.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Strong technology skills and a familiarity with recruiting databases (i.e., viRecruit and Symplicity) are preferred.
• Experience with preparing statistical analyses and monitoring budgets is preferred.
• Additional hours, weekend work and travel will be required, especially during the summer and fall months.
