Job Description

Mori is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented Senior Project Manager, Engineering and Capital Projects. The candidate will manage and actively ensure the success of capital projects related to expanding Mori’s production capacity and ensuring production supply. The Senior Project Manager will also be actively involved in new facility design and start-up. This role reports to the VP of Engineering. Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and manage capital projects including managing timelines, budgets, individual contributor responsibilities, technical scope, vendor requirements and responsibilities, and consultant requirements and responsibilities
  • Scope capital projects from conception and design stage to ensure Mori’s business, production, and food safety goals are met
  • Oversee on-site construction and start-up activities in chemical and/or food plants
  • Work closely with partners on aligning on project goals, division of responsibility and roles, and written agreements at project outset
  • Ensure success of manufacturing processes at commercial scale and beyond, including scoping projects, identifying staffing needs, identifying technical development required, and more
  • Ensure safe implementation of capital projects by keeping safety first and foremost in project development and execution
  • Lead activities and support troubleshooting during commissioning and startup of projects, including technology transfer, validation, safety inspection and training, and production ramp-up
  • Prepare, review, and revise design basis and engineering packages for capital projects, which include PFDs, Pamp;IDs, and general arrangements
  • Work with engineering consultants and internal Manufacturing, Process Development, amp; Food Safety team members to finalize Pamp;IDs, equipment lists, and equipment specs
  • Incorporate all elements required for a successful plant build, including utilities requirements, site considerations, environmental permitting, operational considerations, performance requirements, regulatory requirements, and applicable design standards
  • Up to 50% travel, either Boston-based or Norfolk-based

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field with 5+ years of experience in production and management within food, pharmaceutical, chemical or related industries
  • Strong technical background in engineering design, chemical processing equipment, and controls systems
  • In-depth knowledge of production facility operations, maintenance and team management
  • Ability to define problems, take initiative, and prioritize objectives from multiple projects
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and team building skills
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced work environment
  • PMP certification, or similar project management certifications, a plus
  • CAD model and design drawing preparation expertise a plus
  • Willingness to travel

Compensation

  • Base salary range from $120,000 - $140,000, based on experience.
