English Instructor, Pre-College Writing

ATS Institute of Technology has been successfully helping students achieve their educational goals since 1998. We are currently seeking a writing instructor to help our students develop their communication skills. This is an opportunity for a determined individual to help inspire our students to realize their educational and career goals and build a foundation for success in nursing school.

Summary:

The English Instructor will deliver hybrid coursework and will apply teaching strategies aimed to meet diverse students’ learning and cognitive needs, fostering student self-efficacy, persistence, and lifelong learning. The instructor will attain student outcomes through a supportive environment that promotes students learning and personal development. This person will manage the writing and communications lab.

Duties amp; Responsibilities:

• To provide high-quality, appropriate developmental coursework aligned with essential academic skills necessary for success in nursing coursework
• To develop students critical thinking, written and oral communication, technology skills, and professionalism
• To enhance the retention of developmental students through monitoring student progress in the course
• Provide ongoing and systematic student and course evaluation focusing on student performance and achievement of course learning outcomes
• Support students writing in Writing Lab

Requirements

• Masters degree in Education, English, Reading, Literacy, or any related field.
• 3 years of recent college teaching experience in developing students reading amp; writing skills.
• Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with a sense of desire to support students.
• Effective online classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organization skills and the ability to work from home.
