We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to join our team, specifically to work during weekends and take responsibility for improvement projects related to our state-of-the-art vacuum manufacturing equipment. This work will span multiple engineering disciplines. You'll be working with an experienced team of mechanical, electrical, and materials engineers and scientists. You will be responsible for taking improvement projects from concept to fully tested, documented, and implemented solutions. Must be willing to work weekends with days off during the week. Responsibilities:
  • Improve existing equipment designs by identifying areas for improvement then plan and execute upgrades and retrofits to improve tool reliability and process capabilities.
  • Providing technical support to troubleshooting and design of facility-level equipment.
  • Managing suppliers to improve their parts and assemblies in a reasonable time frame and budget.
  • Selecting and integrating off-the-shelf hardware for process control, product quality measurement, and automated manufacturing tasks.
  • Working with a multidisciplinary team to solve complicated problems, learning new skills where necessary.
  • Developing procedures and documentation for use by technicians.
  • Build, install, upgrade, and troubleshoot plasma reactors.
  • Troubleshoot industrial control/electrical systems including power supplies, controllers, sensors, PLCs, fieldbus communication, and other devices.
  • Writing procedures and checklists, assisting with training and maintenance.
  • Provide technical support on weekends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in ME, EE, ChemE, or similar from an ABET-accredited school.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Independent problem solver.
  • Hands-on experience designing, testing, deploying, and troubleshooting equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
