SPANG is partnering with a company to hire a Senior Systems Engineer. In this role, you will design and implement control and automation systems for electric utility clients. Responsibilities:
- Generate configuration, user interface, and logic files.
- Produce basic hardware designs for control cabinets using AutoCAD.
- Create test plans based on customer-supplied specifications and information.
- Travel to customer sites to assist in project commissioning.
- Represent our company's automation values: Service, Integrity, Innovation, and Teamwork.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Hardware troubleshooting communication problem-solving skills.
- 3+ years of experience in the utility industry and/or SCADA.
- Knowledge of HMI/SCADA master systems.
- Programming/scripting proficiency in VB6/VBA/SQL/Perl/Python/C or Lua (at least 2 required).
- Knowledge of TCP networking, including IP routing, topologies, and firewalls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-discipline, attention to detail, teamwork, and results-oriented mindset.
- Ability to share knowledge with other engineers, the sales team, and customers.
Nice to Have:
- Basic relay programming knowledge (SEL, ABB, Basler).
- Minimum one year of project management experience in automation and control, demonstrating skills in planning, scheduling, and project tracking.
- Experience with RTUs, I/O devices, and IEDs in substations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MODBUS, DNP, and other industrial protocols.
