Job Description
Freemodel is seeking a Responsible Managing Employee/General Contractor for our operations in Minnesota as we continue to grow.
This position is a part-time, consultative/high level role that will work directly with the Head of Operations on Freemodel’s construction projects in Minnesota. The Freemodel General Contractor acts as a Responsible Managing Employee overseeing home renovation operations while ensuring project safety, quality, and serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for building requirements in the state of Minnesota. This is a remote opportunity that must be licensed.
Freemodel is a fully insured, comprehensive pre-sales home renovation service that helps homeowners sell for more by renovating before they sell. We provide a full GC (general contractor) back-office including marketing, sales, capital, software, and support.
Using our platform, Freemodel’s Project Directors and Contractor Network provide high-quality, in-person home renovation services without any of the back-office headaches. Think: AirBNB for home renovation, with local Project Directors on-site at each home to ensure projects are on time, on quality, and on budget.
Requirements
- Lend expertise to Freemodel by managing construction activities and making technical and administrative recommendations/decisions
- Support project inspections as it relates to safety, project quality, subcontractor performance, homeowner satisfaction, etc.
- Assist in coordinating with permitting offices, contractor license boards, utilities, city offices, inspectors, etc.
- Evaluate subcontractor progress according to deadlines and performance goals to ensure construction is set to finish on time and meets quality standards
What you will bring
- Extensive hands-on experience as a General Contractor with general construction and single family homebuilding knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence to navigate trade, vendor, and project manager conversations.

Requirements
- General Contractor license in Minnesota in good standing
- 7+years of relevant experience working in residential construction project management
- Ability to be the Responsible Managing Employee (RME) for Freemodel, Inc.
Benefits
Compensation
This is a high-level, part-time, salaried opportunity paid on a semi-monthly basis, with pay ranging between $2,500 - $5,500 per month based on projects completed.
