Job Description

ActivTrak is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Product Marketing to lead our product marketing efforts. As the Director of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive product marketing strategies that drive the success of our software solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, marketing and customer experience, to ensure effective positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans.

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ActivTrak's products and making a significant impact on our customers' businesses. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic product marketing plans to drive product awareness, adoption, and revenue growth for ActivTrak's workforce analytics and productivity optimization software.
  • Deeply understand customer pain points / needs by:
    • Reviewing and auditing prospect calls
    • Conducting win/loss calls in coordination with sales, customer success and product management
    • Interviewing existing customers to better understand the value of our product
    • Analyzing common patterns and trends in prospect/customer interactions
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, market trends, and key differentiators for ActivTrak's products.
  • Define and refine product positioning, value propositions, and target customer segments (including our ideal customer profile) based on market insights and customer feedback.
  • Craft compelling and innovative product messaging aimed at defining and owning a new workforce analytics category with a strong focus on mid-market segment. This includes defining an iterative and agile approach to test new messaging and materials before investing in fully branded assets.
  • Create marketing content, including sales presentations, product collateral, website content, case studies, and thought leadership blogs.
  • Lead go-to-market planning and execution for product launches, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders and departments for successful market entry.
  • Collaborate with the sales and customer success teams to develop effective sales enablement materials, including product training, competitive insights, and sales tools that drive customer engagements and conversions.
  • Partner with the marketing team to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that generate leads, support customer retention, and drive product upsell opportunities.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of product marketing initiatives, providing regular reports and insights to the executive team.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and customer needs to identify new opportunities and make strategic recommendations for product enhancements and market expansion.
  • Act as a product expert and advocate, both internally and externally, to build awareness and credibility in the market and enable revenue-generating teams.
  • Manage and mentor a team of product marketing professionals, fostering their growth and development.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably within the SaaS industry, with a track record of driving product growth.
  • In-depth understanding of B2B software products, customer personas, and buyer journeys.
    • Experience in enterprise customer segments is a requirement
    • Experience in the data and analytics platforms is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to gather and interpret market and customer insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and compelling messaging.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing go-to-market plans for new product launches.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring a team of product marketing professionals.
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes and driving revenue growth.
  • Familiarity with marketing automation and web/product analytics tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
