  • The Accounting Coordinator performs bank reconciliations for health center revenue according to organization policy and department procedures. Ensures deposits are processed timely and accurately. Reconciles health center revenue from electronic practice management system to bank statements for all health centers at Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT). Provides support to other members of the Finance team, as needed. Ensures productivity expectations, customer service and compliance standards are maintained. Abides by the organization’s mission in performing job duties. Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to quality healthcare and excellent customer service.
Essential Job Functions and Expectations
  • Assists with calculation of monthly grant releases.
  • Assists with the preparation of grant reports for Development.
  • Reconciles health center inventories from electronic practice management system (Next Gen) to the general ledger.
  • Processes accounts payable for purchase order (PO) related invoices by matching invoices to the PO and receiving documents.
  • Performs bank account reconciliations.
  • Processes PPGT credit card reconciliation reports for Austin cardholders.
  • Informs senior leadership of major discrepancies or serious policy infractions.
  • Corresponds with pharmaceutical vendors on issues related to invoicing and payment.
  • Supports audit requests for accounting and revenue data and documentation.
  • Tactfully enforces cash handling procedures and organization policies.
  • Maintains current documented procedures for accounting function in accordance with department policies and practices.
  • Produces timely and accurate reports as appropriate.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Files bank statements and other accounting records.
  • May assist in the completion of special projects as needed.
  • Has restricted access to patient private health information and has no reason to view protected health information (PHI). May have access to data that is not considered PHI, such as aggregate numbers.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
Minimum Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience. An Associate’s degree in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or other degree with at least 12 credit hours in Accounting) may be substituted for 4 years of accounting experience. Accounting/Bookkeeping experience desired with an advanced degree.
