The Financial Accountant is responsible for handling banking functions, performing month-end close activities, maintaining the general ledger and performing weekly payroll processing for a small group of employees. This role performs detailed accounting necessary for accurate and timely issuance of financial statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Performs monthly reconciliations and follows up on unusual items identified.
- Prepares month-end journal entries.
- Prepares monthly financial statements.
- Prepares intercompany eliminations.
- Assists in preparing and maintaining the annual budget.
- Maintains the general ledger system.
- Assists Controller with various annual audits by compiling detailed support as required.
- Manages company credit card program including virtual credit card program.
- Prepares insurance renewal applications.
- Coordinates annual insurance audits.
- Performs payroll processing for small group of employees.
- Provides backup payroll processing for overall company on an as-needed basis.
- Performs special projects as deemed necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or relevant business degree from a four-year college or university with minimum of three years of training and related experience and with proven ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as outlined.
- Competency in Word and advanced skills in MS Excel.
