Job Description

As a leading member of the Visual Experience Design Department, the Senior Designer is responsible for driving the development and execution of impactful visual design solutions for a diverse range of interdisciplinary projects.

The Senior Designer collaborates with strategists, content developers, UX designers, creative technologists, and others to come up with unexpected, meaningful, and innovative ideas and concepts as well as efficient workflows. They convert strategies into impactful design solutions through design thinking and push ideas and elevate concepts from a visual experience point of view and expertise.

A Senior Visual Experience Designer guides, collaborates, executes, mentors, and supports projects from ideation through design development, asset production, and launch with the fidelity needed for effective team collaboration at each phase. The Senior Designer also fosters the growth of junior and intermediate designers.

  • Travel required (domestic and global)
  • Must be able to work on-site in our NYC Studio (Hybrid)
  • Must reside in the NY/Tri-state area
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience
  • A design degree (graphic, interaction, communication, media design, or a related field)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a strong passion for design and exhibiting diverse designs in the digital space
  • A proven record of coming up with distinct visuals for a broad range of clients
  • An interest in developing unprecedented solutions that actively engage audiences
  • Ability to think conceptually and then clearly expresses those ideas visually, verbally, and in writing
  • Competency in establishing elaborate design systems
  • Ability to produce designs to support complex content
  • Experience translating narratives into compelling visual experience design especially spatially
  • A proven record of driving experiments, iterating quickly, and pushing conventions
  • A strong point of view and expressed thought leadership in visual experience design
  • Excellent typographic skills
  • Advanced understanding of user experience, user interface, and interaction design, and the fundamentals of information architecture, hierarchy, and layout as well as the workflow of time-based and interactive media
  • Experience in designing for physical spaces and/or animation and motion graphics
  • An awareness of contemporary trends in technology, art, and design
  • A track record of thriving in a collaborative and agile creative environment
  • Strong technical and organizational skills
  • Capacity to time manage multiple projects and deliverables and handle changing priorities
  • Ability to collaborate in teams, work autonomously, and to take direction from project leads
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, and professional work attitude
  • An empathetic nature with an open, positive mindset
  • Excellent strategic problem solver, reliable and responsible
  • Strong understanding of current industry tools with the ability to adapt to new technologies
  • Strong portfolio with engaging, diverse designs in the digital space, demonstrating a passion for design
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and familiarity with After Effects (or another animation platform in order to quickly animate designs)
  • Excellent working knowledge of design software Sketch, Principle, Zeplin and Invision; Figma is a plus
  • Excellent working knowledge of Keynote
