With world-class science labs designed to support thought-provoking, lab-based, hands-on learning experiences, Burke’s seeks an educator who can inspire a passion for science by modeling best practices in teaching and implementing student-centered, inquiry-based lessons that develop skills around scientific thinking, the scientific method, and the process of experimentation. Emphasis is placed on real-world applications, problem-solving, and effectively communicating the results of a scientific investigation through writing. The fifth and sixth grade courses focus on biology and Earth science, emphasizing climate science.
In addition to teaching 5th and 6th grade science sections, responsibilities include advising a group of students to support social-emotional learning and strong learning habits.
