Job Description

The Microsoft Dynamics 365 Administrator is a key member of the IT Department. They are the main point of contact for the high level and technical needs of Dynamics 365. This includes, but is not limited to, managing system installation, upgrades, managing customizations, and configuration of third-party add-ins/extensions. The ability to recognize and escalate priority issues and translate technical terms into non-technical language is critical to the success of this role. The position will also work with the IT department, as well as other departments, to provide assistance during go-live activities and ensure ERP related projects are completed as scheduled.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This Dynamics 365 Administrator will be responsible for a wide range of duties that include system administration, configuration, reporting, analysis, and quality assurance testing. Other duties include developing or modifying system requirements and functional specifications for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and related technology projects. Additionally, as the Dynamics 365 Administrator, you will serve as a liaison and advisor throughout the organization. The Dynamics 365 Administrator will generally work on medium- to large scale projects of moderate to significant complexity.

In this role as the Dynamics 365 Administrator, you will report to the VP of IT and be responsible for developing solutions for Dynamics 365 in a food manufacturing environment with multiple locations. The Dynamics 365 Administrator will oversee the administration, maintenance, field support, customization, and configuration of the platform. The Dynamics 365 Administrator will also partner with internal teams to assess system requests, assist with system training as needed, and recommend solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide technical and functional support for Microsoft Dynamics Business Central in production and non-production environments.
  • Customize and develop different modules including AR, AP, GL, Inventory Management, Cost Accounting, Warehouse Management, Procurement and Sourcing modules.
  • Partner with stakeholders to define data and Business Intelligence requirements.
  • Prepare functional requirements by analyzing current workflows to improve the quality and efficiency of the application.
  • Author design documentation, assess technical feasibility, analyze business workflow, and determine configuration needs. Also, present functional and technical design documents that translate business requirements into workable solutions. Prepares high level user documentation and training materials.
  • Works effectively with users and software engineers to understand requirements and test system functionality.
  • Coordinates releases of software builds into production environment.
  • Creates production change request documentation for the Change Authorization Board’s (CAB) review.
  • Coordinate business requirement gathering, specifications, design, and testing efforts for Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Defines and develops test plan documentation to support system validation and/or User Acceptance Testing.
  • Conducts gap analysis and uses analytical skills to identify root cause and assist with problem management.
  • Function as the primary IT contact for D365 technical requirements
  • Provide technical and functional support for Microsoft Dynamics in production and non-production environments.
  • Assist the D365 Continuous improvement team with Go Live activities.
  • Manage and maintain the D365 Version Upgrade process, meetings, and testing.
  • Research new features and enhancements and work with other business units to explore possible use cases.
  • Support current D365 Integrations and third-party add-ins (e.g. ProBatch, ProductVision)
  • Defines and develops test plan documentation to support system validation and/or User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Review the progress of assigned tickets, ensuring end users receive appropriate assistance.
  • Conducts gap analysis and uses analytical skills to identify root cause and assist with problem management.
  • Follow development best practices and software development life cycle processes.
  • Prepares high level user documentation and training materials on modifications, extensions, and customizations.
  • Work with functional team to test and implement customizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience required (3 years)
  • Experience upgrading D365 Business Central environments.
