Job Description

The North America Controller is responsible for overseeing the accounting and related functions including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance accuracy of the organizations’ reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.


Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee the financial accounting close process (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for North America.
    • Manage all financial transactions within the ERP system (currently Netsuite) for North America.
    • Timely and accurately produce and/or coordinate the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast financial results in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and expected operations.
    • Monitor and analyze operating results against the budget with a view to identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate.
    • Coordinate and participate in the quarterly audits and monthly reviews of the organization’s financial records.
    • Evaluate and recommend the development, implementation and maintenance of all financial services policies, procedures, and training programs.
    • Monitor trends and changes in financial services practices and legislation. Recommend and establish policies and procedures in accordance with these trends and changes to ensure compliance with laws, tax, and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain effective relationships across the organization to ensure needs related to accounting, budgets, and systems are met by providing accounting education and training and exploring how the finance/accounting function can support operations.
    • Work in collaboration with F45 leadership to design and implement cost-effective procedures to ensure that internal controls are effective, and to identify redundancies or inefficient processes.
    • Establish credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
    • Cultivate and monitor relationships with outside service providers, consultants, agencies, and organizations, including but not limited to banking and financial institutions, accounting firms, insurance firms, investment firms, and other entities to develop relationships that enhance the quality and efficiency of the financial and accounting functions within the organization.
    • Maintain compliance with all F45 policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. Maintain compliance with all laws within each country that F45 operates.
    • Perform general office tasks as required, including timely reading and responding to emails, returning voicemails and answering phone calls.
    • Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or other related field. Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years prior related experience in financial accounting required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation required.
  • Requires proficient working knowledge of the accounting laws and regulations governing the business (GAAP)
  • Requires proficient working knowledge of long and short term budgeting and forecasting.
  • Requires proficient working knowledge and ability to manage automated accounting systems, including the ability to plan, administer, and report budgets and other required financial reporting and documentation.
  • Requires ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Requires knowledge of budgetary management and development of policies and procedures.
  • Requires ability to effectively manage personnel with administrative skills including staff selection, development, motivation, scheduling and evaluation.
  • Requires strong commitment to producing measurable results.
  • Requires experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic goals.
  • Requires experience using NetSuite ERP
  • Authorization to work in the US
  • Public company accounting experience is a plus
