This position supervises and coordinates activities of workers on a paving crew. Provides hands-on assistance covering all aspects of paving by being a dedicated and organized team player.
Responsibilities include:
- Training and developing the paving crew to produce high quality work based upon Brubacher principles of safety, and maximum productivity and profitability.
- Estimating daily production by calculating number of trucks required to haul asphalt from mix plant according to capacity of vehicles; taking into consideration traffic conditions, distance from work site and the productivity of drivers and paving crews.
- Making accurate calculations to verify thickness of subgrades and finished paving to assure efficient use of materials and compliance with paving contract specifications.
- Maintaining time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and crew performance.
- Interacts in a professional manner with inspectors and agencies having jurisdiction over job sites.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship with employees, customers and subcontractor personnel.
Qualified candidates will:
- Have a least 5 years of experience in the paving industry
- Possess 2-3 years of experience supervising a paving crew
- Be self-motivated and detail oriented
- Have good communication and accuracy skills
