TheAccounting Managerreports to theAssistant Controllerand is an integral member of theAccounting team. This highly motivated individual willmanage various areas of the accounting close process and work withexternal auditors on quarterly reviews and year-end audit.This position should operate independently and be able to resolve any issues that come up in the month-end close.As a highly acquisitive company, Cisionis committed to buyingmultiplenew companies every year to expand its market share andtransformits earned media technology.Thisposition will have exposure extensively to Mamp;A and be involved in the integrationprocess.Theprimary responsibilities of this position include:Responsibilities:
- Manageand leada number ofstaff and senior accountantsandbe responsible for the team’s careerdevelopment;
- Lead the effort in global process standardization and consistency and work with international accounting teamsto centralize certain accounting processes in North America;
- Prepare key accountreconciliationsand provide guidanceto the team on monthly close and account reconciliations.
- Provide support in Mamp;A accounting, such as review and manage opening balance sheet tie-out schedules for acquired companies, assist with integrating acquired companies into Cision, including accounting process and system integrations;
- Collaborate withinternaland externalteams such asinternational accounting teams,FPamp;A, legal, external consultantsin relation tomonth over month and budget vs actualvarianceanalysis;
- Reviewfootnote tie-outschedulesfor quarter-end and year-end financials prepared in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS;
- Support financial statement review and audit, includingbut not limited toPBC requests, sample testing;
- Provide expertise in identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation;
- Support Assistant Controller to complete special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At leastfive to eightyearsof related accounting experience. Big 4 experience preferred.
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles. CPA or CPA-candidate preferred.
- Understanding of foreign currency impact on financial reporting preferred.
- Minimumtwoyearsofmanagement, supervisory or leadership role for management
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge of NetSuite a plus.
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to plan effectively, work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. High degree of initiative.
