About the role

Softheon is seeking a Senior Product Marketing Manager, Governement to support and partner with our marketing and sales team. You will be responsible for driving successful marketing for our government products. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will be focused exclusively on state government agencies, not local or federal. Your role will involve collaborating with cross functional teams, conducting market research, and developing compelling marketing campaigns to effectively position our products in the government sector. This role will be an individual contributor role and will report directly to the VP of Government sales.

Requirements

You will:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to understand the government sector's specific requirements, procurement processes, and regulatory landscape.
  • Gather customer insights to inform product positioning and marketing strategies.
  • Develop clear and compelling product positioning and messaging tailored for government agencies, emphasizing the unique value proposition of our SaaS solutions.
  • Lead the development and execution of go-to-market plans for new product launches and updates, taking into account the extended procurement cycles and decision-making processes in the government sector.
  • Conduct regular competitive analysis to identify key differentiators and opportunities for product positioning within the government market.
  • Create and implement marketing campaigns targeting government agencies, utilizing various channels such as digital marketing, events, webinars, and thought leadership content.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government organizations, including procurement officers, IT decision-makers, and end-users.
  • Generate company slide decks, product and process one-pagers, field enablement materials, training, and other marketing videos, among other key content
  • Own the competitive intelligence related to your product, including win/loss analysis, data gathering, competitive assessments, and arming OpenGov with competitive differentiators to inform messaging and positioning throughout the sales cycle
  • Work with a cross-functional team to generate and execute against internal and external launch plans
  • Build a community of Government prospects and clients to bring VoC into sales, marketing, and product
  • Travel 15-25%

You have:

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in product marketing
  • Experience with government clients or SaaS experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful go-to-market strategies for complex product.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to drive marketing decisions.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
