Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Autodesk programs, Revit, and familiar with LEED and energy efficient design.
  • Understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and approval processes as well as site-specific research with respect to these issues.
  • Is experienced in mechanical design, schedules, and budgets of commercial developments.
  • Ability to review, analyze and resolve mechanical and construction field issues.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills in directing multiple projects with multiple clients, as well as mentoring, training, coaching, and developing team members.

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $80,000-$100,000. At Galloway our salary range is based on several factors including skills, location, education, credentialing, and experience. Pay is carefully considered for each person to ensure equity for all employees.

Your Day to Day:

  • As a lead position, provides technical direction over a group of mechanical designers and engineers and/or functions as a technical specialist, staff advisor, and consultant
  • Performs work involving mechanical and plumbing engineering for the assigned functional area such as HVAC systems, plumbing design, and kitchen exhaust systems.
  • Performs mechanical and plumbing engineering for the assigned functional area such as HVAC systems, plumbing design, and kitchen exhaust systems.
  • Manages project schedules and budgets; communicates budget allocation to staff and coordinates mechanical engineering work.
  • Oversees the design and progress of a project including project coordination with city, state, and county officials and other outside agencies.
  • Resolves conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements, etc.
  • Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
  • Take a leadership role in new business development and building relationships with existing clients, including attendance at networking events and meetings.
  • Committed to the development, mentoring, and training of team members.

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering. Professional Registration required.
  • Typically, 10 or more years of experience in Mechanical Engineering. Experience in private commercial development projects highly preferred.
