POSITION SUMMARY
Senior Associates collaborate with the full project team as a project manager or project landscape architect. They act as experts in the synthesis of technical and aesthetic constraints while tracking project budgets and deliverable timelines. Senior associates work closely with the Directors and Partners on their project teams to balance design excellence, technical excellence, and financial sustainability on every project. They are instrumental in shaping their team’s strengths into productive workflows, collaborative design iteration, and innovative culturally relevant design solutions. Their work is clearly rooted in a project’s specific vision and goals, cultural, social and environmental equity, and support holistic success of team culture as well as client needs. Senior Associates also begin to understand the business strategy and the various Business Design Support roles. They have moved beyond mastery in project delivery alone and seek out a role that helps to support business operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support client relationships through clear and timely communication
- Mastered the art of project delivery at multiple scales.
- Support formal mentorship initiatives, weekly staffing, drafting project proposals, business development/networking events, and interviews for new work.
- Lead in design or technical expertise and are recognized by consultants and clients as the champion of the broadest range of information for the project.
- Find ways to position themselves as leaders in their area of expertise both amongst peers and within the larger community through external board involvement, community service or speaking/writing engagements
- Operate within their roles to promote the firm’s four pillars: Design Excellence, Technical Excellence, People + Culture, Financial Sustainability
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE amp; EDUCATION
- Able to work in collaborative environment
- Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture
- 8-10+ years of experience
- Maintained Board membership within the community or industry or demonstrate strong involvement in an organization
- Understanding of Construction cost-estimating and bid process, and of financial aspects of project process.
- Preferred Program Proficiency: Bluebeam, The Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office, Miro, Bim360, Revit 2023, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Smartsheet, Cmap, Insperity, AWS, Shutterstock
- Oversight of teams using the above software, in addition to: Rhino 7, Grasshopper, Lumion, Enscape, Sketchup, Acrobat, ArcGIS, Google Earth Pro, Open Street Maps, After Effects, Premiere
