Job Description

Plum Creek Recovery Ranch is a residential treatment center specializing in substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. Our gender specific, trauma-informed program supports our residents in their healing journey to sobriety and recovery. We are located in Lockhart, Texas approximately 20 miles south of the Austin airport.

We are searching for an Overnight Supervisor to be responsible for coordinating the activities of the overnight staff. This position is the main point of contact for all evening team members and is responsible for facilitating smooth and efficient processes in all areas during the overnight shifts. The Overnight Supervisor will resolve any issues and communicate them to the facility Directors as needed. This position will provide support to Nurses, Recovery Support Staff, Therapists and Admissions in their overnight responsibilities.

The job hours are week nights from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Essential Duties Include:

- Communicates with the Executive Director and Directors on resident, business and treatment issues that occur on the overnight shifts

- Serves as point of contact for admissions, nursing, and direct care staff questions and concerns

- Ensures the process of referrals, intake and admissions are followed if they occur during the overnight hours.

- Follows chain of command to ensure functional issues are resolved

- Uses critical thinking to resolve issues on the spot and escalates unresolvable issues to either the Department Director or the Executive Director

- Conducts admissions screenings if qualified and as needed

- Ensures safety problems are identified and corrective actions taken

- Answers code calls and investigates disturbances

- Responds to and documents telephone inquiries from persons seeking treatment and facility information

- Completes admission paperwork if applicable

- Collaborates with interdisciplinary professionals. including admissions, nursing, therapists, and RSS to determine and provide the best possible care for residents

- Provides social support for residents by creating and encouraging residents to take advantage of opportunities such as support groups, social activities, and other therapeutic measures

- Assists the residents in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment; supports AMA blocking

- Complies with laws, rules, regulations, protocols and procedures

- Uses professional judgement to ascertain and to apply appropriate intervention techniques with residents in crisis

- Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents and staff

- Performs administrative tasks as needed, including writing progress notes and incident reports

- Maintains resident confidentiality

- Stays current on PCRR programs and services

- Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development

- Upholds PCRR ethics and customer service standards

Requirements

Education: HS diploma. Bachelors degree in a mental health field a plus. LCDC, LCDCI a plus

Experience: Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting. Minimum of 3 years experience as a direct care staff, nurse or counselor.

Required Licenses: Clinical or nursing credentials a plus

Additional Requirements: Must obtain and maintain approved CPR certification and completion of CPI prior to assuming resident care responsibility

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Must possess leadership qualities to lead and secure the cooperation of staff

- Ability to effectively interact with persons of widely diverse roles, backgrounds, cultures, and socio-economic classes, those in crises or resistant or negative to the organization

- Ability to use critical thinking and exercise appropriate judgement in answering questions and releasing information; analyze and project consequences of decisions and/or recommendations

- Ability to exercise self control in potentially volatile situations such as as being verbally or physically confronted in a threatening or aggressive manner, must be flexible and not easily frustrated in dealing with differences of opinion

- Ability to handle confidential information with great sensitivity

- Basic data entry skills

- Problem solving, prioritizing, organizational skills and time management

- Skilled in crisis intervention

- Basic knowledge of treatment procedures and interventions common to detoxification or residential substance use disorder care as well as non-violent crisis intervention practice, medical and psychiatric emergency procedures
