Software Engineer

1. Plan and engineer organization's cloud computing infrastructure and applications. Implements and designs infrastructure and software.
2. Ensure HHSC best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment, and operations in the cloud.
3. Define and develop blueprints and roadmaps for building solutions in the cloud (preferably AWS)
4. Develop roadmap for cloud monitoring, implementation, and strategy
5. Ensure compliance with enterprise security configuration standards
6. Work closely with other teams to ensure solutions are engineered and deployed meet business objectives and regulatory requirements.
7. Provide cloud operational guidance both internal and external operation teams
8. Investigate and provide feedback on new AWS services and solutions.
9. Performing continuous research on emerging technologies to stay updated with the best alternatives, investigate and provide feedback on new services and solutions offered by the CSP
10. Providing technical oversight, review, and quality control throughout the life cycle of the implementations
11. Engaging with Cloud service provider around solving technical problems in the Cloud ecosystem
12. Support DevOps functions to best utilize cloud resources with software configuration management and continuous integration tools.
13. The Cloud Solution Architect will perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is preferred.

Certification:

• Cloud Solutions Architect Certification
• Cloud Infrastructure Certifications

Requirements

1. 8 years Hands on experience in designing, executing, and supporting IT cloud solutions.
2. 8 years Experience with technical architecture, cloud platform development, cloud strategy, IT strategy, and infrastructure strategy
3. 8 years Experience implementing Client-facing applications with responsive design and development
4. 8 years Experience with deployment and orchestration technologies (such as Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift)
5. 8 years Hands-on experience participating in all phases of Agile development
6. 8 years Experience with cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
7. 8 years Hands-on experience with adjacent technology areas including Security, Identity / Access Management and Monitoring.
8. 8 years Experience with virtualized environments (VMware vSphere 5.x) and knowledge of provisioning hardware, storage, resources, and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services for cloud infrastructure
9. 8 years Experience with state eligibility systems, either State of Texas or other states, experience in integration with Federal agencies (CMS, Federal Hub...)
10. 8 years Experience testing and Integration with CMS, SSA, DHS, IRS and other third parties
11. 8 years Experience with virtualized environments (VMware vSphere 5.x) and knowledge of provisioning hardware, storage, resources, and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services for cloud infrastructure
12. 8 years Experience leading heterogenous teams in bakeoffs to evaluate container orchestration technologies against a standard set of requirements to identify the optimal choice
13. 8 years Experience working with application teams to migrate their applications to the clous, identify potential performance blockers and implement solutions to mitigate
14. 6 years preferred Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later and JBOSS
15. 6 years preferred Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology
16. 4 years preferred Hands-on development experience for mobile and tablet platforms

Benefits

Rate: $73- $83 DOE

Services are expected to start on or around October 2, 2023 and are expected to completed by August 31, 2024. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 2,000 hours for FY24.

Position will be 100% remote. Program prefers candidates who are within the state within the state (any location within the United States).
