Plum Creek Recovery Ranch is a 46 bed residential treatment facility specializing in substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are located on 200 acres south of Austin in Lockhart, Texas.
Plum Creek is looking for a Director of Plant Operations to be responsible for the maintenance of the facility, safety, security and kitchen management. The Director is responsible for insuring a safe, clean, healthy physical environment for clients, staff and visitors to the facility.
The Essential Functions of the Position Include:
- Schedule work based upon established priorities, budgetary constraints and agreed upon plan of preventative maintenance
- Ensure that clients and staff conduct themselves in a safe and secure manner at all times, and keep constant watch for safety and security issues that may affect the facility
- Ensure that orders for parts, equipment and selected services and supplies are carried out in a timely and efficient manner
- Manages plant operations staff according to existing policies, procedures, budgetary constraints and safe practices
- Establishes and maintains a quality assurance program whereby appropriate evaluation of products and service is easily discernible
- Oversees the inspection of areas within facility to ensure that standards of cleanliness and safety are maintained according to established policies and regulatory requirements
- Selects, trains and schedules the activities of staff performing a variety of housekeeping activities
- Initiates the requisition and issuance of housekeeping supplies; coordinates maintenance repairs
- Serves as department fiscal manager
- Carries our personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening, selection, orientation , training and development, performance management and employee relations functions
- Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards
- Performs other Plant operations duties as requested
Requirements
Education: High school or equivalent required. College degree and/or technical training a plus
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in operations, facilities, maintenance and mechanical work preferred
- 5 years in leadership and personnel management is required
- Management and supervisory skills required
- Ability to read technical blueprint information, and write policies
- Experience with OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission and ADA requirements and standards within a health or hospital environment required
- Experience with IT needs to include primarily hardware; software knowledge is helpful
- Experience with leading a Safety and Security program is required
- Intermediate level knowledge of building systems to include HVAC, electrical, plumbing and septic systems
- Expert level knowledge of Fire Suppression Systems to include water shortage and diesel fire pumps
- Expert level knowledge of Access Control Systems
- Expert level knowledge of CCTV/Security Systems
- Ability to develop and maintain beneficial relationships with outside vendors while holding them accountable for work performed and agreed upon pricing
Additional Requirements: Valid Texas drivers license

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions: Perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp and be able to perceive the attributes of objects such as size, shape, temperature and/or texture by touching with skin, particularly the fingertips
- Ability to safely carry, operate and perform work off an A-frame, folding and extension ladders from 4 feet to 32 feet in height. Ability to train ladder safety skills to direct reports
- Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word during activities in which they must convey detail or important spoken instruction
