Director, New Business Development

Salary Range $85,000-$95,000

Rebuilding Together, a national housing and community revitalization nonprofit with more than 110 affiliates around the country, is seeking a results-orientated Director of New Business Development with a drive to secure new partnerships and strengthen and grow a national portfolio of corporate partnerships. This position can work remotely and reports directly to the Vice President of Development.

The Director of New Business Development will help secure, design, and manage new philanthropic partnerships and cause- based campaigns. This position must establish, cultivate, manage and maintain high-level relationships with corporate partners, key internal and external stakeholders, community supporters, and others required to bring the concepts to their full potential. This position requires skills in not only relationship management, but also strategic thinking and an extensive background in building new programs/partnerships.

This position must excel in managing projects and tasks, assist in enrolling the organization and its stakeholders into the concept, and maintain a sense of flexibility as programs/partners evolve. This position will work collaboratively with the Marketing amp; Communications, Network Advancement, Programs/Grant Implementation, and the rest of the Development team within Rebuilding Together to craft and deliver partnerships and opportunities that meet both the organizations and partner’s needs.

Candidates will have demonstrated experience with fundraising, cause-based marketing and account management, with a strong preference for experience with corporate social responsibility. The Director of New Business Development will have an annual fundraising goal in the $1,000,000 - $1,500,000 range.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for minimum of $1M in new revenue each year through securing and onboarding new partnerships.
  • Oversee creation and implementation of new business development yearly revenue plans and long-term strategies
  • Strategize, develop, and execute an integrated multi-year, multi-source strategic new business revenue plan for the organization with a focus on securing new revenue and revenue expansion that aligns with the organization’s 2030 goals.
  • Serve as key staff person responsible for ensuring a healthy pipeline of new corporate prospects, and all new YOY partnerships goals are met.
  • Responsible for suggesting strategic outreach improvements or overall organizational/operational needs to meet and exceed corporate fundraising goals.
  • Conduct prospect outreach.
  • Collaborate with Vice President of Development on pitch meetings and proposals.
  • Work directly with all members of Rebuilding Together Senior Leadership Team, staff and affiliates to pursue and respond to corporate opportunities and serve as a strategic thinker and a collaborative contributor with Vice President of Development.
  • Work with internal communications to create messaging about revenue plans, work with all senior staff to assist in raising specific funds for new ideas, strategize on how to best use the volunteer experience to encourage corporate giving, know how to balance the need for restricted and unrestricted funding.
  • Facilitate the transfer of successfully on-boarded partners to the Corporate Partnership team in conjunction with the Vice President of Development.
  • Develop, provide oversight, and communicate proposed budgets for new corporate partners with the Senior Leadership Team and other internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for staying up to date on corporate partnership trends, corporate CSR/ESG happenings, and reviewing consumer trends. Reads and reviews current articles on partners and prospects and uses this knowledge to assist in preparing for business alliances pitches and programs.
