Job Description
V! Studios is seeking a Senior 3D Animator with a passion for building realistic models and creating dynamic and engaging animations, to join our in-house team of 3D animators. Details matter many of our productions require meticulous modeling and accurate simulations.
Responsibilities
- Storyboarding: Visually laying out a script or design brief, allowing stakeholders to see how scenes will unfold, indicate camera angles, compositions, and movements for each shot. Select colors, fonts, images, and layouts based on client/brand style guides.
- Animatics: Creating rough draft versions of a sequence or scene, created using a combination of storyboards, sketches, and sometimes temporary audio to help client and production team plan the pacing, timing, and overall flow of a project before initiating full-scale production.
- Object Animation: Creating animations for objects, props, and elements within the scene to make them appear lifelike and interact with the environment or characters realistically.
- Physics and Dynamics: Applying physics simulations and dynamics to elements like cloth, hair, fluids, fire, explosions, and particles to make them behave realistically in the animation.
- Character Animation: Animating characters to convey movement, expressions, and actions that are consistent with their personality, role, and the context of the scene and story.
- Camera Work: Setting up and animating cameras to achieve desired shots, angles, and perspectives that enhance storytelling and visual appeal.
- Editing and Revision: Receiving feedback from supervisors, directors, or clients and making necessary adjustments to animations to meet creative and technical requirements.
- Collaboration: Working closely with other members of the production team, such as modelers, riggers, texture artists, and directors, to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing final product.
- Attention to Detail: Paying close attention to details such as lighting, shading, textures, and overall visual aesthetics to create a polished and professional-looking animation.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshooting technical issues that may arise during the animation process, such as glitches, artifacts, or unexpected behavior.
- Creativity and Innovation: Bringing creative ideas and innovative approaches to animation, pushing the boundaries of what's possible to create unique and captivating visuals.
- Time Management: Adhering to project timelines and deadlines, efficiently managing workload and tasks to deliver animations on schedule. Meet clients virtually and/or in-person throughout the project lifecycle. Manage multiple projects within design specifications and delivery requirements.
- Continuous Learning: Staying up-to-date with the latest 3D animation techniques, tools, and software to improve skills and produce high-quality work. Attend visual arts industry networking events.
