Job Description

The GOVX Director of Human Resources will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) Department as the owner of the GOVX employee experience including recruiting staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing GOVX company policies and practices, creating employee programs for training and career development, team building initiative planning and execution. The Director of Human Resources will work closely with department leaders to manage and execute HR initiatives, and cultivate a healthy, inclusive, and collaborative company culture.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the leadership team to understand, document and execute the team’s human resource and talent strategy. Particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Nurture a positive working environment.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with 3+ years in management or leadership preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven working experience in an HR Manager or HR Executive capacity.
  • Proven experience recruiting technical teams.
  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly learn Workable talent management system.
  • People oriented and results driven.
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws, regulations and filings including for an EEO Employer.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.


Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel Requirements
This position will have an estimated one-week quarterly travel to GOVX Tennessee location.

Work Environment and Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, etc. This role is predominately a sedentary role.

Work Location
This is an in-office position working onsite Monday through Friday at the GOVX corporate office located in San Diego, CA. No relocation allowance or visa sponsorship will be provided.
