Job Description

The Revenue Cycle Product Owner participates in the development, maintenance amp; optimization of Revenue Cycle information systems for ensuring successful day-to-day charge capture and billing processes within EHR operations across all sites utilizing the CliniComp EHR Product Suite. The Revenue Cycle Product Owner analyzes user needs, billing requirements, and research appropriate workflows to further develop broader revenue cycle functions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, external operational consultants and departments within CliniComp to ensure superior customer support, system optimization, and problem resolution. Leverages their knowledge of Revenue Cycle, Financial Decision Support, and hospital operations in collaboration with teams to optimize product development.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

  • Specify and write features, stories, requirements for the development of software to support charge capture and Rev Cycle workflows at hospitals and health care provider organizations using the CliniComp EHR product suite;
  • Integrate with operational consultants to ensure product designs meet end user needs;
  • Prioritize, plan, and manage product feature development from inception to completion;
  • Collaborate with development team from software specifications through testing and deployment for charge capture, coding, and billing functions of health care organizations, including inpatient and outpatient environments as well as professional and hospital-based billing;
  • Demonstrated detailed expertise in at least three domains of revenue cycle operations in a hospital. (i.e. HIM, Charge Capture/Revenue Integrity, Professional/Hospital Billing, Claims);
  • Acts in a leadership role on Scrum team, solves complex problems through analytical skills;
  • Develop, oversee and facilitate training programs to educate client staff on revenue cycle features and capabilities;
  • Investigate and resolve matters of significance related to quality assurance, system change requests, usability issues, technical support, device integration, and coordinate with business partners as needed;
  • Understands the customer, has a vision for the needs, pain points and value delivered to the customer, and can balance needs of other stakeholders;
  • Responsible for the backlog of features and user stories from which the development team pulls from;
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations to product team


Qualifications:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Experience with revenue cycle operations in a hospital, or design and development of revenue cycle software of 2-3 years.

  • Strong knowledge of Revenue cycle operations, charge capture and downstream financial systems;

  • Flexibility and adaptability to partner well and collaborate with scrum teams and stakeholders across the organization;
  • Proactively communicates with leadership on progress and issues;
  • Technical skills Scrum amp; Agile software development methodologies, software development, UX knowledge and principles, backlog understanding and management, user stories knowledge, ability to use tools and apps.
